CHAD

Dan & Claire

Dan and Claire finished their language study in France and are transitioning to Chad in 2022, where they will be continuing their French studies and commencing Chadian Arabic language learning.

Daniel & Nancy

Daniel and Nancy were called, commissioned and sent to the LBIM field in Chad from the Lutheran Brethren Church of Taiwan in 2021. They are ministering among an unreached people group in Chad. They are currently learning the language and growing in relationship with neighbors. Daniel and Nancy are also working alongside a Chadian missionary partner.

Matt & Christina

Matt and Christina and their children are deploying to Chad in the fall of 2022.  Matt graduated from Lutheran Brethren Seminary in the spring of 2022 and will now be transitioning to life and ministry in Chad. They have been serving with LBIM since 2020.

David & Sonja

David and Sonja and their children serve as missionaries among an unreached people group of Chad. They are continuing to grow in relationship with the community and are actively seeking opportunities to share the gospel. They have been serving with LBIM since 2016.

Jeremy & Sallee

Jeremy and Sallee serve as administrators of the Lutheran Welcome Center, a guest house and conference facility designed to provide a place of rest, renewal and gathering for missionaries in Chad. They have been serving with LBIM since 2015.

Nathanael & Carrie

Nathanael and Carrie and their family are living in a village in Chad among an unreached people group. They have started an elementary school, translating the Bible into the Bagirmi language, and are seeking other creative ways to share Bible stories in their community along with their Chadian partners in ministry. They have been serving with LBIM since 2012.

Paul & Teresa

Paul and Teresa are living in a new mission community. There, they partner with Chadian friends in an educational ministry, preparing Chadian families to work alongside LBIM missionaries among the unreached. They have been serving with LBIM since 1997.

JAPAN

Dean & Linda

Dean and Linda live in Ishinomaki, a seaport town in Northern Japan, where much destruction occurred in the “Great Tohoku Earthquake/Tsunami.” House of Hope opened in 2015 as a Christian community center. A Japanese pastor has joined their team as a full-time outreach pastor in April 2022. With that, they are excited to become an official neighborhood church this year! Dean and Linda have been serving with LBIM since 1989.

TAIWAN

Ben & Sara

Ben and Sara have been in Taiwan since fall of 2018. In late 2021 they moved to Taichung City to work alongside Taichung Victory Church. They plan to do ministry with students at a nearby university as well as outreach to grassroots families in their community.

Ethan & Sandy

Ethan and Sandy are working to reach the unreached in northwestern Taiwan. They use both Hakka and Mandarin Chinese in their interactions with others. Ethan is also a researcher at the China Lutheran Seminary Research Center for Traditional Chinese Religions and New Religious Movements in the city of Hsinchu. Ethan and Sandy have been serving with LBIM since 1990.

Michael & Delores

Michael and Delores are involved in full-time ministry among the Hakka Chinese. They desire to work with LB churches and individuals who are interested and concerned about reaching their Hakka family and friends for Jesus Christ. Currently they are partnering with Victory LB Churches, Hsinchu and Bau Shan to develop ministries specific to Hakka people. Evangelism is done through friendship evangelism and material using traditional Hakka songs and poetry. Michael and Delores have been serving with LBIM since 1987.
