Rev. Kirk Militzer was born in Appleton, Wisconsin. He grew up in Bloomington, Minnesota, and spent his Junior High years near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Kirk matured in his faith at Trinity Lutheran Church in Minnehaha Falls, Minnesota, where he heard the gospel clearly proclaimed and saw it passionately lived out. He graduated from the Lutheran Bible Institute in Seattle, Washington with a Bachelor of Science in Youth Ministry in 1982. He completed a Bachelor of Science in History from Northwestern College in St. Paul, Minnesota in 1984, and a Master of Divinity from Lutheran Brethren Seminary in Fergus Falls, Minnesota in 1990. He went on to complete a Doctor of Ministry from Bethel Seminary in St. Paul in 2005.
Kirk served as the adjunct professor of church history for CLBI in Camrose, Alberta, Canada from 2007 to 2015. He has served congregations in Minnehaha Falls, Minnesota, and Moorhead, Minnesota. He now serves as pastor at Bethesda Lutheran Brethren Church in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. He and his wife Julie Lynn have three adult children.
