At the fall meeting of the Council of Directors, they voted unanimously to call Nathanael and Carrie to serve as missionaries among a people group in Chad (Last name of missionaries and name of people group were removed for online use for privacy concerns).

The Lord Provides

The Lord provides! That title might sound cliché and overly optimistic for those of you aware the Church of the Lutheran Brethren is currently $250,000 behind our anticipated contributions for the 2010-2011 fiscal year, but I chose that title not in anticipation of what is to come but in gratitude for what has already been given.

The February newsletter covers the book titled We Believe that will be published in the next couple months by Faith & Fellowship Publishing, written by Dr. Timothy Ysteboe who sadly passed away in November 2009. The book is a wonderful commentary on the Church of the Lutheran Brethren Statement of Faith. Below is an article by Rev. Robert Overgaard, former president of the CLB, about why we have a statement of faith and why this book is important to us as a family of churches.
